I figured my recent TasteBook project was as good a reason as any to get back onto the blog and start writing! Hubby has been insisting that I start documenting the recipes for the food I make for prosperity. Every time I make him a meal he begs that I write it down. But I’m such an ad hoc cook that this is no mean feat. To be honest, the majority of enjoyment I get is from whacking a little more of this, a little less of that resulting in a drastic change or minor tweak in the dish every time I make it.
But Hubby is so supportive of my food endeavours – he thinks it has potential to become a career for me one day – so to show my thanks I’m doing the deed. The timing was perfect recently when Boss showed me TasteBook at work. What is it? It’s literally like Facebook but for recipes! I took the liberty of doing some research and discovered it was Random House’s property which got me just a little bit excited. This looks like an attempt by a publisher of physical books (which lets face it, are on the decline) to start to use the digital space as an alternative revenue stream. TasteBook is a community around shared recipes that lets every one become an amateur cookbook publisher. I’ve named my first collection The Bondi Pantry of course.
